Diva 660

The Indiana Line Diva 660 floorstanding loudspeakers have a “floating” tweeter placed between the woofer and the midrange driver. This construction is distinguished by the naturalness of mapping, among others vocals without overloading them with low frequencies, and at the same time provides detailed sound with strong bass. The wide sound stage and stylish, glossy finish emphasizing the high class of the product also deserve attention. These free-standing loudspeakers will be useful especially in rooms of more than 15 m2.

Indiana Line Diva 660

Indiana Line is an Italian brand with rich traditions, which offers loudspeakers and installation speakers. Its history dates back to the 1970s. The company’s designers and engineers constantly make sure that the models they introduce to the market are of high quality, and at the same time ensure unrivaled sound qualities in their price range.

Top series of Italian brand speakers

Diva is the flagship series in the Indiana Line offer and at the same time a real pride of the main designer. It is distinguished by elegant, timeless shapes and a black piano lacquer finish. Figuratively speaking, the Indiana Line Diva loudspeakers combine a distinguished seriousness with a hot, southern European temperament hidden inside.

A powerful floorstanding model

The Indiana Line Diva 660 is a 3-way floorstand using a bass reflex cabinet, a 26 mm tweeter, a pair of 180 mm mid-woofers with a large linear excursion, and a 140 mm midrange driver, operating in a separate sealed cabinet. The great sonic potential of this construction makes it possible to build a high-quality stereo system. The speaker is designed for rooms of more than 15 m2. The power of the amplifier required to drive it should be from 30 to 170 W, although in the case of this model you should not be afraid of using even more powerful devices. The amplifier loading impedance of the Diva 660 is 4 – 8 ohms.

Properly matched drivers

The aforementioned tweeter is a construction with a silk dome and a radial rear chamber with two types of damping materials. The driver is propelled by a strong neodymium magnet and embedded in the cabinet with a soft, rubber spring, isolating the driver from unwanted vibrations of the speaker cabinet. The midrange driver used in this Diva series model has a unique Curv cone made of woven polypropylene, which is formed into the profile necessary for excellent directivity and optimal damping. Noteworthy are the cast aluminum speaker baskets, which avoid discoloration in the midrange. Importantly, the magnetic drives of the mid-woofers have aluminum impedance linearization rings, which allowed to reduce the level of harmonic distortion and improved the thermal conditions for the operation of the coils. These solutions translated into a dynamic and clear sound, also provided at high volume levels. Inside the Diva 660, several specially shaped internal reinforcement plates have been placed to increase both cabinet stiffness and reduce standing waves. The cabinet of the loudspeaker is divided into two separate sections: the upper one is closed (to control the midrange driver’s membrane excursion), while the other is equipped with a double vent for the highest possible efficiency at low frequencies. To ensure effective isolation of the entire structure from the floor, the die-cast aluminum feet have been equipped with anti-vibration rubber pads.

Proper bandwidth distribution

A carefully tuned crossover with air coils ensures the correct distribution of the processed frequency band (from 35 Hz to 22 kHz). The tweeter filter section is based on foil capacitors. It is worth emphasizing that the loudspeaker terminals used in the Diva series models, and therefore also in this floor-standing model, have been made with the use of magnetically inert materials and allow the speaker to be connected in bi-wiring or bi-amping.

Sublime sound

The sound provided by the Indiana Line Diva 660 is characterized by a quick and extremely precise impulse response. A “floating” tweeter located between the woofer and the midrange driver ensures natural and detailed high-frequency sound. Two 180 mm woofers produce warm and rich bass of remarkable dynamics. On the other hand, thanks to the midrange driver, the Diva 660 can boast about fully natural reproduction of e.g. vocals without overloading them with low frequencies. What’s more, the soundstage is wide and thrillingly engaging, and the high-quality electro-acoustic transducers are not afraid of even more powerful transistor amplifiers.

100% polyester damping

All Indiana Line cabinets are filled with polyester – a synthetic non-woven fabric of high purity, known for its excellent damping of the internal resonances of the speaker cabinets. What's more, polyester is also extremely resistant to stretching, drying and moisture.

Air coils and film capacitors

In order to emphasize the exceptionally clear and natural sound of our loudspeakers, we decided to get rid of the troublesome components from the crossover where it was necessary – in the tweeter filter. In all loudspeaker models in which this filter is used, we use only air coils and foil capacitors. These elements do not introduce harmful distortions to the filtered signal, as is the case with ferrite core coils and electrolytic capacitors.

Aluring

The short-circuit ring is made of pure, perfectly electrically conductive aluminum (1010). It has been placed inside the magnetic system of the mid-woofer. By linearizing the impedance of the loudspeaker, it positively influences the sound of the low and medium frequencies of the acoustic band, significantly reducing non-linear distortions. The ring also absorbs the heat emitted from the speaker coil, increasing its thermal load capacity.

Curv cone

Curv is a combination of special fibers with high stiffness and high internal damping. It is a material that is thermally formed into a cone profile, which ensures very good directional characteristics of the sound. The Curv cone combines the advantages of membranes made of natural materials (warm and pleasant sound) with the advantages of stiff membranes (high dynamics, precision and a wide, even frequency response). The membranes made of Curv material are also moisture-resistant and are characterized by high durability. The Curv cone has been used in the mid-woofers.

Floating tweeter

The tweeter is mounted in the cabinet with a rubber insulating pad. This solution is to limit the vibrations transmitted from the front wall of the column cabinet to this sensitive component. The use of a floating mount in the case of a tweeter increases the spatiality of the sound, improves the stereo and clarity of the treble.

MDF housing with transverse reinforcements

Indiana Line loudspeakers cabinets are made of MDF panels. They are made using the latest production techniques, which ensures high precision of workmanship, great repeatability and excellent performance parameters for many years. MDF is a moisture-resistant material, it is massive and it suppresses all resonances very well. To completely remove unwanted vibrations, we used transverse reinforcements of the cabinet. They take the form of horizontal rings that are located at key points along the entire height of the loudspeaker cabinet.

Radialvent

A radial damping chamber that prevents harmful reflections under the tweeter dome while allowing it to achieve a low resonance frequency. The small, but at the same time strong magnet of the tweeter is surrounded by a space in which – due to its shape – standing waves cannot be generated, which is the case with classic radial chambers located in the axis of the dome.
