Tesi 7

Tesi 7 central speaker is a two-way construction belonging to the new generation of the Tesi series by Indiana Line. It is inspired by the Tesi 761 model, but compared to its predecessor, it incorporates numerous improvements. These enhancements have led to improved dynamics in sound reproduction and the elimination of undesirable distortion and resonances. The tweeter in the Tesi 7 loudspeaker is positioned differently from the Tesi 761, symmetrically placed between two midwoofers.

Indiana Line Tesi 7

It not only presents itself exceptionally well but also ensures an attractive, balanced, clean, and dynamic sound. It maintains a simple and universal form consistent with the other columns in the new generation of the Tesi series. This model incorporates innovative technical solutions and components that have previously proven themselves in the top-of-the-line Diva series by Indiana Line. The Tesi 7 is available in three colour variants – black oak, white, and mocha. This allows users to create an audio system perfectly tailored to their sound preferences and room decor.

Universal, cohesive design

The Tesi 7 model has been optimized for realistic and precise reproduction, especially for dialogues in movies or narrator voices. The internally reinforced enclosure is made of MDF, and the low-midrange transducers feature trim rings masking the baskets, giving the column an aesthetic appearance. The dimensions of Tesi 7 remain unchanged compared to the original. Similarly, the bass reflex port – just like in Tesi 761 – is located at the back, allowing for the reinforcement of low tones by positioning the speaker closer to the wall or placing it in a niche in a cabinet or shelf if needed. In line with the other columns in the new generation of the Tesi series, the Tesi 7 has subtly rounded upper edges of the enclosure and a magnetically attached grille, emphasizing its universal style.

New high-frequency transducer front

Indiana Line Tesi 7, like the Tesi 761 speaker, features a 26 mm tweeter with an unique, radial damping chamber and a powerful neodymium magnet. However, unlike the original, the high-frequency transducer in Tesi 7 has a rectangular front instead of a circular one, once again drawing inspiration from the flagship Diva series. The front, however, is crafted using simplified mounting techniques. The result is similar – the tweeter front, visually harmonizes with the symmetrically placed low-midrange transducers on either side.

Improved low-midrange transducers

The midwoofers utilized in the Tesi 7 model have been optimized using modern design techniques. Each of them has a 16 cm diameter, a rigid polypropylene membrane blended with mica, and an aluminium ring linearizing inductance. Compared to the Tesi 761 model, the magnetic systems of the transducers have been enlarged, and phase correctors have been replaced with dust caps. The components and solutions employed ensure high efficiency while maintaining a low level of distortion. In comparison to the original, bass processing has been optimized, resulting in more dynamic bass that delivers compelling audio effects and a distinct foundation for human voices.

Dual-Wave suspension

The midwoofers used in the Tesi 7 central speaker feature Dual-Wave suspension, a pioneering solution first introduced in the Diva series models. This innovative approach is inspired by stage speakers with accordion-like springs. Dual-Wave enhances the linear operation range of the transducer and minimizes intermodulation distortion, especially in the low-frequency range. This improvement also enhances clarity in the mid-range of the acoustic spectrum, which is particularly desirable for a central speaker in a home theatre system handling dialogues or narrator voices in movies.

Perfectly designed crossover

The crossover in the Indiana Line Tesi 7 central speaker has been optimized using state-of-the-art design methods and specialized measurement systems. The same topology and comparable component quality found in the crossovers of the Diva Series flagship models have been retained. The crossover enables a smooth impedance characteristic, high efficiency, low distortion levels, and optimal off-axis sound dispersion. These features make the Tesi 7 seamlessly compatible with any home theatre receiver.

100% polyester damping

All Indiana Line cabinets are filled with polyester – a synthetic non-woven fabric of high purity, known for its excellent damping of the internal resonances of the speaker cabinets. What's more, polyester is also extremely resistant to stretching, drying and moisture.

Air coils and film capacitors

In order to emphasize the exceptionally clear and natural sound of our loudspeakers, we decided to get rid of the troublesome components from the crossover where it was necessary – in the tweeter filter. In all loudspeaker models in which this filter is used, we use only air coils and foil capacitors. These elements do not introduce harmful distortions to the filtered signal, as is the case with ferrite core coils and electrolytic capacitors.

Aluring

The short-circuit ring is made of pure, perfectly electrically conductive aluminum (1010). It has been placed inside the magnetic system of the mid-woofer. By linearizing the impedance of the loudspeaker, it positively influences the sound of the low and medium frequencies of the acoustic band, significantly reducing non-linear distortions. The ring also absorbs the heat emitted from the speaker coil, increasing its thermal load capacity.

Computer-optimized crossover design

The use of numerical calculations allowed for obtaining a balanced frequency response and low level of distortion, as well as reducing power losses. The obtained sound results were verified by many hours of listening tests. The tweeter filter circuit uses only air coils and foil capacitors. This allowed to avoid distortions that often appear in the case of electrolytic capacitors or coils with a ferrite core. Core coils, when present in a crossover, have a laminated high-silicon iron core, which minimizes distortion from the iron cores.

Dual-Wave suspension

The Dual-Wave upper spring is an original, precisely designed membrane suspension that expands the range of linear operation of the loudspeaker. It reduces distortion, especially in the low bass registers, and improves the articulation of the midrange of the acoustic band. This translates into improved sound of instruments, especially percussion, string and acoustic ones. Thanks to the Dual-Wave solution, unevenness of the frequency response, which results from the resonance of the membrane edge, is also reduced, without the need to varnish it. Dual-Wave suspension drivers also have an eye-pleasing appearance that refers to professional designs used, among others, on stages and equipped with the so-called accordion springs.

Mica-poly cone

Universal and extremely popular polypropylene is a valued material, often used for speaker membranes. However, in order to ensure the most faithful transmission of micro-details, we decided to further increase the stiffness of the cone. We achieved this by doping polypropylene with a mineral called mica. This shiny, hard material significantly improves the parameters of the membrane, guaranteeing the transducer a long and reliable operation, and at the same time giving it an attractive appearance.

Radialvent

A radial damping chamber that prevents harmful reflections under the tweeter dome while allowing it to achieve a low resonance frequency. The small, but at the same time strong magnet of the tweeter is surrounded by a space in which – due to its shape – standing waves cannot be generated, which is the case with classic radial chambers located in the axis of the dome.
